Baby Elephant Walk

We had to do it. For the last gasp of our 10 month tour of Asia we had no option but to go back to our favourite place of the whole trip - ELEPHANT NATURE PARK. We were going to spend a week there and then hit the Thai islands for some scuba diving, beach lounging and full moon partying, but after about one hour with the elephants we looked at each other and said simultaneouly "Fuck the islands. We're staying here until it's time to fly home!"

And so we did. For just over two weeks which turned out to be the perfect climax to our trip because it was easily the most awesome fortnight of the whole year.

For more info on the park itself and our previous experience there in August, have a click on this post and the three subsequent to it.

Well as we'd expected hanging out with the elephants was another mind-blowing experience - just having the ability to watch those incredible animals socialising with each other in a happy and peaceful environment was amazing. On top of that however, we were blessed with a great group of people who we really really liked spending two weeks there at the same time as us.

Plus we got the opportunity to spend more time with Karl and Michelle, the Aussie couple who work at the park, and had a fantastic time getting to know those guys better. They are so awesome, it was really sad to leave. In fact we were close to taking up their offer to have Christmas... and New Years ... and our wedding at the park and just forget about Australia.

Also special guest starring the elegant, puffy-nippled Matt McKenzie. Matty, puh-leeeese make it to Sydney for our wedding! Hey check out Matt's awesome blog.

Oh in fact I don't have time to put up individual photos of everyone so have a gander at these group shots of the gals and the boys. There was Richard and Sam, Stacey, Natasha and George, Beth (check out Beth's photos), Ingrid, Tania, Rachel among other great folk.

Let's not forget the inspirational Lek, founder of the park and an absolute lover of animals. A truly unique and wonderful person.
