Annapurna trek II

Right it's time for the next lot!

After the proposal and coming down from Tilicho Lake I had a fairly speedy recovery from illness and was feeling horny again soon afterwards

So we headed back through the fields right in the middle of the autumn harvest

and back into the Manang valley

where we had a great arvo of rest in the lovely village of Manang itself

Sarah and Tatjana with a local urchin in Braga

Leaving Manang the next day on to start the three day push up to Thorung La - the highest pass on the trail

Arriving at Thorung Phedi the day before our climb over the top with three fantastic English girls we met a week before and kept running into so often we decided it was easier just to travel together! Becky, Rachel and Nicky have all been living in Nepal for a while (Becky and Rachel working for a volunteer organisation have been here about 5 years and speak amazing Nepali, Nicky's been here about a year and a half with her husband who's posted with the British army here). We had a great trip with the girls and their two lovely porters Kumraj and Shiva Lama.

A solid hour straight up and we got to the Thorung High Camp where we were staying for the night

Here's looking back down at Thorung Phedi where we'd just been an hour earlier

It was a bit chilly up there at 4,800m

but the views were nice, and like this 360 degrees
