We stopped off at a little town in the north of the country called Ninh Binh (which I thought was Nimbin everytime I heard it and had visions of tripped-out Byron hippies lying everywhere) and went to check out the first national park in Vietnam. Sarah and I hooked up with an awesome girl from Seattle called Alissa, we grabbed some motorbike boys off the street and took off for an arse-shattering ride out to the park.

There was a great hike through thick lush rainforest and then we checked out an Endangered Primate Refuge centre where they've doing a really good job breeding rare monkeys and reintroducing them into the wild.

It was just nice to meet some Vietnamese who weren't interested in eating endangered animals.
