God bless the Wildcard

Anyway once the Dengue fever subsided, the weekend in Hong Kong was awesome! We really got a great taste of the expat lifestyle. Drinkies in the Fong on Friday night where we met up with Woody when they finally let her out of work, Ramsay straight back from a week in Taiwan for work, Jo Yao and Jefferson as well as Sarah's friend Rachel from UBC.

On Saturday, I went with Ramsay to play a few hours of touch footy with his rugby team in the sweltering heat, while Woody cracked some shins in her hockey semi-final and Sarah did some shoe shopping over in Kowloon.

That evening we had a great barbie on the rooftop of Tim and Lisa's beautiful apartment in happy valley. Such a nice night, great food, great booze, great conversation and we even got to wake up their gorgeous little Chinese baby Pong-Pong (aka Imogen) for a snuggle.

Even better was that Ramsay has been in the middle of a two month alcohol ban in a bet with a mate, but he decided to play his one wildcard so he was hooking in too. Then the handstand competition began and things got a little ugly... Say no more, just check out Woody's new drinking gear

The next day was a lazy hungover Sunday like we haven't had in a long time. The four of us spent the entire day on the couch with only a brief excursion to the outside world in order to get thickshakes for all before scuttling back to the TV. Two footy games (including Manly delivering a resounding thrashing to the bunnies at Brooky oval), three crap movies, various assorted naps and a home-delivery pizza rounded out the perfect day!
