Last days in Canada

Then it was just Gary, Reby, Mike, Sarah, Mary and Jack. With the whirlwind of the wedding week starting to fade away it was into full-on relaxation mode for us. Sarah's parents took us all for dinner on our last night to the restaurant they part-own down in Cowichan Bay. The Masthead Restaurant (http://www.themastheadrestaurant.com), an incredible spot right out over the water in a 150 year old building and the food was just sensational. A pretty darn good way to spend our last evening on Vancouver Island.

The next morning it was ridiculously hot and sunny so straight back to the Cowichan River for another day of tubing. A slightly different experience with 6 people than with 25, but just as much fun.

From there it was straight back to the ferry where the lovely Rae picked us up and we headed to our old stomping ground again for a meal at our other favourite restaurant a block from where we used to live - Vij's.

This is us eating outside at about 10pm - god I love Vancouver in summer!

The next morning it was breakfast (and lunch) at the Nam with Rae and Sumerlee then a swim in the gorgeous Kits pool to cool off from the 32 degree day before Rae took us to the airport amid much teariness to conclude our incredible trip.

The trip home itself - not so hot. 6 hour flight to Honolulu, on the ground for a couple of hours, then 7 hours flight to Fiji, 3 or 4 hours in the rank transit lounge there before another 4 or 5 hours flight back to Sydney. Then there was trackwork so two buses, a train and then a drive home. No sleep for days, hurrah! Ah well, here's us delirious in Fiji:
