Another recent highlight – our little buddy Michelle from Elephant Nature Park in Thailand came over to stay with us for the weekend. Michelle’s amazing, you might remember her from such blog postings as… all the ones from Thailand. Michelle and her husband Karl and their giant dog Kaine are from Melbourne but moved over to Thailand about three years ago to live and work at Elephant Nature Park, which is possibly the most awesome place we’ve ever been to. 30 elephants, 40 dogs, 2 cows, a dozen cats, the best food you’ve ever eaten, inspirational people (such as Michelle) and a revolving door of weird, wonderful and ridiculous travellers to keep you entertained. With a mix like that it feels like living in the world’s most surreal reality TV show as dramas unfold by the second as relationships are formed and egos collide within the elephant world, canine world, human world and often the interaction of all three.

A good excuse to post more elephant photos:

Anyway Michelle had never been to Sydney before so on a wild and stormy weekend we made sure to show her the best of what it has to offer… in terms of karaoke in Bondi for Jenn’s birthday, lying around our apartment all day reading the papers and drinking endless cups of tea hunkering down from the biting wind, riding the wild mouse at Luna Park and trawling through crap Australiana souvenirs over at the Rocks. Awesome weekend!
