Monk business

We're in Dharamsala right now and have been for a week. It's Rishikesh all over again, but better. We can't leave! Really it is an unbelieveable place, the home of the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan Government in Exile along with a sizeable Tibetan community. There's a series of villages strung along a set of mountain ridges in what is a truly stunning setting. The Tibetan people are gorgeous and so friendly. Also there are incredibly photogenic monks everywhere. Check out these guys:

Even better, one night we managed to find a bar (first alcohol in about a month for us) which has been visited by none other than your and my favourite - Pierce Brosnan! There's even a glossy photo of him on the inside cover of every menu.

There's so much to tell about this place - we've done incredible short hikes through the mountains, been to a bunch of teachings by the cutest and wisest old Tibetan lama, met a fantastic group of people from around the world and spent days hanging out with them, chowed down on Tibetan and Indian food and of course the girls have been shopping their little heinies off on traditional Tibetan handicrafts (all to support the cause of course). Even hanging out in the street is an experience. Gotta run now, but more stories and photos of this place to come.

Oh wait here's a shot of the view from our place
