DENIED!!! aka "The incredible imaginary relationship"

Phew, it's been over a week now so I think I've receovered sufficiently not to get into a rant. Briefly, some joker at the Australian Consulate in Korea decided that Sarah and I are not in a real relationship and refused our application for her to get permanent residence in Australia.

Well it's a damn good thing I didn't spend the last two years trying hard to keep together a long-distance relationship - that could have been really painful. If only he'd told me sooner that the relationship was all a figment of my imagination! Does this mean I've been single and celibate for over five and a half years then...?

Ok I'm allowed at least one ultra-sarcastic paragraph! But really, I mean that guy didn't even bother did he? We supplied him with 5 1/2 years worth of solid proof: about a hundred photos of us together over the entire time, reams of letters, cards & emails between us, leases from the 2 1/2 years we lived together, proof of joint bank accounts, phone records showing twice daily calls between us for the last couple of years we've been apart, passport stamps and plane tickets from the last three holidays we've had which have consisted of Sarah coming to Sydney or me going to Korea to be with each other, signed statements and statutory declarations from both our parents, my brother and all of our closest friends attesting to our relationship.

Bah humbug. Bring on the appeal!
